MX TUNER 2.0
Standard with every new MY21 RM-Z purchased, the plug and play MX Tuner 2.0 allows users to alter the engine mapping via the intuitive smartphone WiGET app, available on iOS and Android devices.
The WiGET app comes with several pre-installed factory-developed maps for easy tuning for different riding styles and track conditions.
In just a few minutes the power delivery can be altered for softer delivery settings for hard packed surfaces or dial-in maximum power for deep, loamy conditions and amazing drive out of the corners.
For the more experienced tuner, the possibilities are practically endless with the ability to create fully customised maps with specific settings for 36 points of ignition timing and 36 points of fuel injection delivery.
49MM SHOWA SPRING FORK & BFRC SHOCK
The RM-Z450 is equipped with the latest SHOWA front and rear suspension components, delivering improved responsiveness and traction, enhanced ability to absorb impacts, better chassis stability, overall feedback to the rider, terrain feel and improved comfort.
Up front, an updated 49mm Showa coil-spring fork based on works A-type design replaces the previous air fork design. Performance has been increased significantly and offers a more consistent feeling throughout a moto. Bike set-up and daily maintenance is also much easier for a wider range of riders.
The Balance Free Rear Cushion (BFRC) rear shock design shares technology with Suzuki’s flagship GSX-R1000R sportsbike. The design balances pressure above and below the piston to better control the stroke and smooth out reactions to bumps and chop, even under severe braking.
SUZUKI HOLESHOT ASSIST CONTROL (S-HAC)
All the power in the world won’t do any good if you can’t transfer it to the ground, and Suzuki’s innovative electronics work transparently with the rider for maximum acceleration on any type of dirt or track conditions. Suzuki’s third-generation traction management system, with a significantly updated S-HAC (Suzuki Holeshot Assist Control) system and more powerful ECM (engine control module).
The RM-Z450’s S-HAC system monitors throttle position and gear position in order to adjust ignition timing for maximum acceleration through the three critical stages of a motocross start: releasing the clutch, getting drive over the starting gate, and then powering down the start straight.
Three settings are available:
A-mode: Intended for hardpack surfaces where controlling wheelspin is paramount
B-mode: For normal dirt conditions with good traction
OFF: For normal unassisted take-offs.
