Transmission
Optimised Ratios
The six-speed transmission features updated gear ratios. The revised ratio for first gear makes shifting from first through to fifth smoother and improves acceleration. Sixth gear was also optimised for greater comfort at highway speeds.
Clutch
Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS)
The advanced slipper clutch delivers a light clutch lever pull, reducing rider fatigue. It also ensures positive power transfer when accelerating and smoother deceleration when downshifting, preventing rear-wheel hopping.
Engine
Forged Pistons
The V-twin engines employs highly-rigid, lightweight forged pistons. The heads are anodized and conical machining inside the wrist pin holes transfer load and mitigate stress transferred to the crowns for enhanced durability.
Fuel System
Electronic Throttle Bodies
Each of the two cylinders is fed by independent 49mm large-bore electronically-controlled throttle bodies. The butterfly valve of each throttle body is open and closed independently to achieve precise throttle control.
Valve Train
Sodium-Filled Exhaust Valves
Hollow sodium-filled exhuast valves help reduce the temperature in the combustion chamber. This not only results in better loading efficiency and improved feeling, it also contributes to improving the durability of the valves themselves.
Ignition
Suzuki Dual Spark Technology
Each cylinder utilises two iridium spark plugs. The primary plug fires throughout the engine’s rpm range, while the secondary plug helps improve combustion efficiency and power delivery at low rpm.
KEY FEATURES
Suzuki Traction Control System
Designed to prevent the rear wheel from slipping, this sytem reduces stress and fatigue whilst instilling greater confidence. The rider can select from 3 modes of control or can opt to turn the system off altogether.
Cruise Control System
This system maintains a set speed without operating the throttle. Available in 2nd gear and above at engine speeds between 2,000rpm and 7,000rpm, which roughly translates to vehicle speeds of 25km/h to 160km/h.
Hill Hold Control System
Automatically applies the rear brake for 30 seconds after coming to a stop while facing uphill on an incline, even when the brake lever or pedal is released. This helps to prevent rollback.
Slope Dependent Control
Constantly monitors posture and angle, and if required controls brake pressure to prevent rear wheel lift and help achieve confident braking, even when riding downhill.
DISPLAY
5-inch TFT LCD Multi-information Display
A new custom 5-inch full-colour TFT LCD multi-function instrument panel features clearly legible information displays, keeping the rider fully informed on the motorcycle’s systems and settings, and supplying real-time operating status information. The tachometer doubles as a programmable RPM indicator light that blinks when the engine reaches a preset speed. The display setting can be manually switched between Day (white) and Night (black) displays or this can be done automatically, ensuring visibility is maximised at any hour and in any riding situation.
